Milk Thistle is native to the Mediterranean and has a history of use as an edible plant supporting liver health.

Our small batch brewing process starts with organic Milk Thistle harvested at peak potency. It’s made into a herbal tea and combined with a unique scoby (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast). Then patience. We wait. We ferment fully for months, unlike other kombuchas which typically ferment for mere days or weeks.

Water, organic milk thistle, organic sugar, active culture.

Drink one shot (2 tbsp) or mix with water or juice. And take five deep, slow breathes. Inhale. Exhale. Because we all need a reminder to slow down sometimes.

What is the equivalent mg of Milk Thistle per dose that is found in Botanica Fermented Milk Thistle?
The equivalent dosage is 400 mg per dose.

How long after opening is Botanica Fermented Milk Thistle good for, if kept in the fridge?
Botanica Fermented Milk Thistle is good up until the expiry date on the bottle. If kept outside of the fridge, fermentation will continue (but not go bad). More “mother” may grow as well but it will not be harmful (just like in apple cider vinegar).

Why is there sugar in the fermented herbs by Botanica?
Organic sugar is used to feed the SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria & yeast) and without it, there would be no fermentation or probiotic cultures. However, the amount left over after months of fermentation is very minimal and does not interfere with low sugar or low carb diets.
