If you’re feeling a little frazzled around the holidays, these gingerbread-spiced energy balls are the perfect holiday treat for you. they’re spiked with Botanica’s Ashwagandha Liquid Herb, a tincture that helps support resistance to stress and increases energy levels, two things that we could all use a little help with around Christmas time!

Gingerbread Energy Balls
Ingredients
- 1 packed cup pitted medjool dates
- 1/2 cup cashews
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup ground flax
- 1 tbsp unsulphured molasses
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp allspice
- 1/2 tsp cloves
- 1/4 tsp black or white pepper
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1 tbsp Botanica Ashwagandha Liquid Herb
- 5 tbsp cashew butter
- Cocoa powder, for dusting (optional)
Directions
- Add dates, cashews, oats and flax to a food processor. Pulse thoroughly.
- Add molasses, spices, salt, Ashwagandha Liquid Herb and 1 Tbsp cashew butter. Pulse again until the mixture holds together when pressed.
- Scoop approx. 2 Tbsp of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Then use your fingers to make a well in the centre of the ball and pinch the sides slightly. This helps you pinch the energy ball back together once it’s been filled.
- Fill the well with approx. 1 tsp cashew butter and then fold up the edges sealing the filling in the centre. Roll the energy ball between your hands.
- Repeat with the remaining energy ball mixture. This recipe makes 10 balls in total. If you like, you can dust them in cocoa powder to look like chocolate truffles.
